Imagine a Greencastle that is vibrant, welcoming, and celebrates our shared values. To achieve this, we need leadership that is rooted in experience, dedication, and a deep understanding of our community. We need Veronica Pejril.
Veronica's commitment to Greencastle is evident from her first term as a council member. She championed increased investments in city infrastructure, doubling Greencastle’s 2023 street repair budget, and supported pay-raises for our brave police officers, firefighters, and other city employees. Even amid a pandemic, Veronica has shown that she can lead and achieve results.
But Veronica knows our journey to an even better Greencastle is not over.
With her vision to "inspire everyone in our community to come together around our common values," Veronica is eager to address key issues like improving housing inventory, investing wisely in impactful infrastructure, and enhancing community safety. In her words, “There is still much to do. We must do more to support the quality of life, especially for our underserved residents.”
Beyond the council, Veronica's dedication to the community extends to her involvement in numerous initiatives and committees. She serves on the city’s Budget Committee, Human Relations Committee, and Sustainability Commission. She is an active participant in the county Housing Stability Committee, Greencastle NAACP Unit 3051, and she serves on the Board of Directors for Main Street Greencastle.
But Veronica's passion for service doesn't stop at policy-making. Her love for music leads her to play jazz/blues piano within her church community and across Putnam County Indiana, and she regularly donates her talents to local and regional organizations.
As an advocate for marginalized youth, Veronica's voice has echoed beyond Greencastle, reaching regional press and television media. She is the Treasurer on the Executive Board of Indiana Youth Group, and serves as Vice President on the Board of Trustees of Princeton University’s LGBTQ+ Alumni Association, BTGALA.
From founding a small business while a student to serving as a former K-8 music teacher and now leading DePauw University’s instructional technology team, Veronica brings a diverse set of experiences to her role. As a 17-year resident of Greencastle and a proud parent, she has both personal and professional stakes in our city's future.
Veronica Pejril - A proven leader, passionate advocate, and committed council member, ready to continue her service to Greencastle. For a vibrant, welcoming city that cares for all its residents, vote for Veronica.
