Yesterday’s election results left many of us feeling a range of emotions—disappointment, frustration, and perhaps even discouragement. And that’s okay. But let’s remember something crucial: the changes we hope to see aren’t waiting for us in Washington, D.C., or at the Statehouse—they start here, in our community, in Putnam County, with each of us stepping up together.
History shows us that progress happens when people come together locally, not just in distant capitals. Those who came before us didn’t let tough times hold them back. They leaned on each other, united by a shared purpose, and understood that meaningful change doesn’t happen alone—it takes all of us.
Here in Putnam County, our community of Democrats has created a safe, welcoming space where we can share ideas, values, and hope. It’s a place to belong, yes, but it’s also a place to take action. If we want to create a better future for everyone here, we must start with each other, knowing that positive change begins when we all show up and play a part. It truly takes all of us.
So today, let’s take a moment to reflect. Spend time with friends and family, take care of yourselves, and let this time be a reminder of what we’re working toward. And when you are ready, let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work. Reach out, let us know you’re here, and let’s turn today’s emotions into tomorrow’s progress—because it takes all of us.
Together, we can bring the positive change Putnam County deserves, starting right here.
